Since its inception, the Health Is Wealth Foundation of Sierra Leone has been working diligently to address these critical issues through targeted initiatives in healthcare, education, and transportation.
Medical Clinic
The foundation plans on building a fully operational medical clinic in Yaradu, which will provide comprehensive health screenings, treatment for common ailments, and specialized care.
What we hope to achieve:
Provide healthcare access to over 5,000 residents annually.
Reduce the infectious disease rates by 50% within five years through enhanced prevention, treatment
Conduct 1,000 comprehensive health screenings annually to detect and treat chronic conditions early.
Medical Training
To ensure sustainable healthcare improvements, the foundation plans to establish training for local healthcare professionals, equipping them with the skills needed to serve their community effectively.
What we hope to achieve:
Train 10-20 local healthcare professionals annually, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Establish a community health worker program to educate residents on disease prevention and health maintenance.
Transportation
Improved Transportation Access: Rural areas often lack proper roads, and available vehicles are usually old and unreliable.The foundation is working to improve transportation infrastructure, ensuring reliable access to healthcare, education, and other essential services.
What we hope to achieve:
Reduce travel time to essential services by 50% through the improvement of road conditions.
Operate 5 new vehicles for community transportation, ensuring reliable access to healthcare and education.
Facilitate 2,000 trips annually, connecting residents to essential health services and economic opportunities.
